Our native Silver birch tree - Betula pendula - is a stunning tree known for its silvery bark and beautiful autumn colour. It grows very quickly and provides a shelter and food source for a huge variety of wildlife.

All our trees are grown using organic inputs and are peat free. 

Sturdy 1 year old cell grown trees 

15-60cm tall

Unlike bare root trees they can be planted anytime.

Growing Instructions:

 • Soil: Prefers well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soils but can tolerate clay and loamy soil types.

 • Sunlight: Thrives in full sun to partial shade.

 • Watering: Water regularly when young during dry spells. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and low- maintenance.

 • Planting: Remove competing plants within a 2ft radius. Plant in a hole just larger than the plug and at same level as the ground. Firm in around the tree and water. Apply a 3inch layer of weed free mulch (ideally bark chip). Keep free of weeds for first few seasons and protect from pests (voles, deer, etc)

 • Growth Rate: Fast
