Description
Ribes rubrum 'Jonkheer Van Tets' is one of the earliest ripening redcurrant varieties, they produce large, sweet, juicy berries and can be used in baking, jams, juices and desserts. This fruit-bearing tree is really easy to grow and harvest as well as being extremely hardy, it can be placed anywhere in the garden that has well-drained soil, although the more sun it gets, the sweeter the berries. Besides the fruits, this deciduous plant develops large branches of bright green flowers that last throughout spring and summer. The redcurrants are usually ready by early June and can be harvested right through to the end of July.
