Description

Apricot 'Flavourcot' is a dwarf, self-fertile fruit tree specially bred for the cooler UK climate, so you can be assured of a crop of delicious apricots whatever the weather! This compact patio fruit tree will produce huge crops of large, egg-sized, delicious orange-red fruits with excellent taste and texture. Late flowering Apricot 'Flavourcot' is also frost resistant, so you will always get a crop. The sweet and juicy fruits are delicious when eaten fresh from the tree, but are also ideal for cooking. This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 4 years. Myrobalan A Rootstock. How to Grow Plant apricot trees in rich fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. A south facing position is preferable to provide the spring flowers with protection from damaging frosts. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole. If the tree is to be bush trained then drive a stake into the ground prior to planting. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. For wall trained apricots attach support wires to the wall prior to planting. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake or support wires, and water well.
