Description

Acer palmatum Bloodgood is an attractive deciduous shrub with deeply lobed leaves and attractive vibranty coloured foliage for most of the year. A wonderfully rich purple-red colour shines through during spring, it holds this colour throughout the middle part of the year, lasting well into summer before turning a crimson-like "blood red" during autumn, hence the name.

This japanese maple prefers to be planted in a partially shaded position, prolonged exposure to full sun could damage the plant so some shelter is preferred.
